I've started a somewhat quixotic quest to bike to all 34 of the San Jose Fire Stations. Figured it would be good way both to get some miles on the saddle and learn about my new home town.
I found a non-optimal Traveling Salesman route to all 34 of about 105 miles. Might try that as a training ride at some point, but for now I'm content with doing a few at a time.:-)

Starting from Home...
Stage 1: Fire Station #3 (off First Street, just south of 280)
Stage 2: Fire Station #8 (at Santa Clara and 17th at the edge of Naglee Park)
Stage 3: Fire Station #34 (just N of King and McKee)
Stage 4: Fire Station #5 (right at 101/880 interchange)
Stage 5: Fire Station #1 (San Pedro Square)
Firefighter's Memorial near Fire Station #1
Stage 6: Fire Station #30 (near Children's Discovery Museum). This station is the one closest to my house and might be shut down in the latest wave of budget cuts.
Stage 7: Fire Station #7 (Rose Garden, next to Bellarmine) - yes, that is a Prius parked in front on the far right.
This one really blends in with the neighborhood.
Stage 8: Fire Station #20 (San Jose International Airport) -- Trucks face the runway.
Stage 9: Fire Station #29 (North 1st Area, on Zanker across from the old black Sony buildings)
Stage 10: Fire Station #25 (Alviso)
Stage 11: Fire Station #23 (Capitol and I680 near the Great Mall)
This one really blends in with the surroundings.
There is just a single engine door on the far left.
